Costa Cruises to cut crew salaries by 15%

The Italian cruise line Costa Cruises has announced it will temporarily cut the salaries for 15% of the crew members currently onboard the ships. The pay cuts are part of a plan to preserve the jobs of all shoreside and shipboard employees. To reach this objective all Costa employees will have to give their personal contribution as the company prepares to restart cruises is September with the Costa Deliziosa from Trieste and the Costa Diadema from Genoa.

Gejay Logdat is a 28 years old, Costa Cruises Barboy and Owner of Jay’s HomeMade Longganisa. After he was repatriated back home to the Philippines, Logdat and his wife decided to open a business in Las Pinas and overcome the global crisis together. Costa Cruises Announces South America 2021-2022 Season

Costa Cruises, today presented the South America programs for the 2021-2022 cruise season during an online conference led by Dario Rustico, the brand's general manager for Central and South America. Costa Cruises will introduce two exciting developments in South America: its new flagship Costa Toscana will make her debut in Brazil, and Costa Favolosa will extend her record season to almost five months.

Costa Cruises Suspends Costa Deliziosa Cruises to Greece

Following the decision by the Greek government to reintroduce a three-week lockdown measure aimed at combating the sharp increase in COVID-19 cases, Costa Cruises announced a temporary suspension of Costa Deliziosa sailings to Greece. Costa Cruises will cancel a number of upcoming cruises on Costa Deliziosa including Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28, and Dec. 5, 12 and 19 cruises. 

Costa Cruises Takes Top Honors in “Italy’s Best Employers” and “Italy’s Best Employers for Women”

Costa Cruises has been awarded among 400 “Italy’s Best Employers 2021”, reaching the first position in the “Restaurants, tourism and hotels” category and an overall 3rd position as best company to work in Italy. The “Corriere della Sera” published the results of the survey in the weekly newspaper "L'Economia", which involved more than twelve thousand employees, interviewed through an Online Access Panel and Statista, a German digital platform which collected and analyzed the data from different business sectors.

9th Anniversary of Costa Concordia Disaster

Today is a sad day. Today marks the 9th anniversary of the Costa Concordia tragedy, which killed 32 people and injured 157. On January 13 2012 the cruise ship Costa Concordia with 4,232 passengers and crew on board ran aground off Isola Del Giglio kicking off the largest maritime salvage rescue operation. This year a ceremony in honor of the victims, with the same emotions as then, will take place on Giglio Island following the strict Covid-19 protocols.
