MSC Cruises has completed the first phase of a major casino technology upgrade, introducing a new progressive jackpot system on blackjack tables across its North American fleet.
The rollout, developed in partnership with Galaxy Gaming, includes 30 blackjack tables installed on seven MSC cruise ships. The project marks the first time MSC Cruises has offered a progressive jackpot feature for table games, giving guests an additional opportunity to win large cash prizes while playing blackjack.
The deployment is powered by Galaxy Gaming's Galaxy Operating System, a platform designed to connect and manage table game operations while supporting progressive jackpot features. The installation follows an extensive evaluation period during which MSC Cruises selected the system for its onboard casinos.
According to Greg Stewart, Vice President of Global Sales at Galaxy Gaming, the launch represents the result of nearly two years of cooperation between the two companies.
MSC Cruises says the new technology is part of its broader effort to modernize the casino experience and bring more interactive gaming options to passengers. Burkay Okgoz, Director of Casino Operations for MSC Cruises USA, said the company is leveraging the new platform to enhance onboard gaming through advanced technology.
Galaxy Gaming, based in Las Vegas, specializes in casino table games and gaming technology solutions. The company operates under more than 140 gaming licenses worldwide, including licenses in 28 U.S. states and over 30 countries.
The first phase is now complete, with the new progressive blackjack jackpot system available aboard MSC Cruises' North American ships included in the rollout.
