NCL Introduces New ‘Prima Class’ Cruise Ships

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Norwegian Cruise Line presented its new Prima Class vessels, which have an impressive series of firsts not only for the brand but also for the entire cruise industry.

"The name 'Prima,' which means 'first' in Italian, is a natural fit with our legacy of industry firsts...Norway Prima personifies everything our guests love about NCL and raises the bar," said NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer.

The Prima class is expected to make its debut this August in Reykjavik, where Norway's Prima, the first of six ships in NCL's new class of vessels, will have a christening ceremony, with pop icon Katy Perry as the ship's godmother.

As Norwegian Prima offers the largest headcount and space ratio of any new cruise ship in the contemporary and premium cruise category, returning cruisers have so many new things to look forward to, while first-timers have yet to discover a new world of luxury and unique experiences. :

The Haven by Norwegian on Prima class vessels was built to offer the brand's most exclusive and centralized suite complex. Spanning eight decks of suites and public areas on Norwegian Prima, the ship-within-a-ship concept provides guests with private amenities, dedicated services and the most luxurious accommodations on board.

NCL has reinvented its industry-leading The Waterfront by doubling the space and adding a greater variety of dining experiences and options than ever before with the introduction of Ocean Boulevard. Located on Norwegian Prima's eighth deck, the 4,000 square meter Ocean Boulevard wraps around the entire deck, allowing guests to walk around the entire ship and experience incredible ocean views while having the choice to participate in a number of exceptional outdoor activities.

As the only cruise line to offer go-karting at sea, NCL will up the ante at Norway's Prima, offering the largest and first three-level racing circuit with Prima Speedway, a long flat track of more than a quarter-mile long, where 15 drivers can at the same time to race in the open ocean, reaching speeds of more than 50 km/h.

A number of new restaurants and drinking establishments made their debut at Norwegian Prima. Created to elevate the sensory experience of diners, Indulge Food Hall offers diners a variety of menu items from a variety of culinary establishments, as well as a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, with 11 venues including Coco's, a returning culinary favorite serving artisanal desserts sweets; K Texas Smokehouse, which boasts delicious American Southern comfort food and barbecue; and Starbucks.
