Alaska 2021 cruise season comes to an end with Norwegian Encore departure from Ketchikan

Today’s departure of the Norwegian Encore out of Ketchikan with 2,238 guests, marks the end of Alaska 2021 cruise season. On Wednesday Norwegian Encore was the final large cruise ship, to visit Juneau, sailing on a 7-Night Alaska itinerary out of Seattle. The ship started Alaska season on July 23, is not sailing with full capacity, as per CDC health and safety regulations.

NCL crew get COVID-19 vaccines at Port of Marseilles

Unvaccinated crew members on three NCL ships (Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Spirit, and Norwegian Jewel), currently docked at the port of Marseilles today received the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccination was onboard the cruise ship Norwegian Pearl which arrived at the pier 8, yesterday.

Norwegian Prima floated out at shipyard

Today NCL’s newest flag ship Norwegian Prima was floated out from her drydock at Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, marking a major milestone as the game-changing vessel touches water for the first time. With a 142,500 gross tonnage and nearly 300 meters in length, Norwegian Prima can accommodate up to 3215 passengers.

Judge rules in favor of Norwegian Cruise Line to require proof of vaccination in Florida

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings announced on Sunday that a federal judge ruled to temporarily halt the Florida law championed by Gov. Ron DeSantis prohibiting businesses from requiring proof of vaccination for customers. U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams granted the preliminary injunction, allowing NCLH to require vaccine proof from guests while the case heads to trial.

Today Crew Center received a message that the Captain of the Norwegian Getaway Konstantinos Gkokas, and his crew performed a successful rescue operation of 34 people that were stranded on a small boat which was not under command. The rescue operation took place on July 23, 2021 in the Mediterranean after the boat was found in distress.

Port of Civitavecchia Starts Cruise Ship Crew Vaccination - Norwegian Epic Crew First to Receive Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Port of Civitavecchia started to coordinate COVID-19 vaccine distribution to cruise ship crew members which will be able to get vaccinated directly on board. Around 10.000 crew are expected to be vaccinated in the following weeks, thanks to the Lazio Region, the Port System Authority of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea, Asl Roma 4 and Usmaf.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Sues Florida Over The Vaccine Passport Ban
