NCL to add 4 new class cruise ships

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd has announced the order of four new class ships which will join the NCL fleet by the end of 2025. The first of four new concept cruise ships will be delivered in 2022 by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. Each ship will cost 800 million euro and will be able to accommodate 3,300 passengers.

Fire Damages Several Decks on Norwegian Joy

Red fire alert was sounded at the German Shipyard Meyer Werft on Saturday. The fire broke out in the early morning hours on the Norwegian Cruise Line new build ship Norwegian Joy. The fire started on one of the staterooms balcony on Deck 9, at around 7:50 a.m. The hall was evacuated, and luckily no one was injured. Affected by the fire are several decks of the 326 meter long vessel. 130 firefighters and dozens of rescue workers were deployed to the shipyard.
