Celebrity Constellation Suffers Propulsion Problems After Dry Dock

After 2 weeks multimillion dry-dock in STX shipyard in Marseille, France, the cruise ship Celebrity Constellation was scheduled to depart from Barcelona for a signature Formula 1 Grand Prix sailing event in Monaco. However, the voyage was postponed due to propulsion issues and the vessel will stay in Barcelona until 28th May the company said.

By hiring the first meteorologist who will advise all captains about the weather conditions, the company is first of its kind in the cruise industry. Casting a watchful eye on the world's weather around the clock is something Royal Caribbean takes it very serious, therefore the hired the meteorologist James Van Fleet for the job.

Video: Passenger Dismissed from Independence of the Seas

A passenger on Royal Caribbean cruise ship Independence of the Seas was ordered to leave the vessel after an incident occurred onboard in one of the ships venues. According to Cris Gherman (the man who shot the videos bellow), he was attacked by another passenger without any reason. The other passenger says that he was provoked because Cris was filming him.

Celebrity Cruises Appoints Malala Yousafzai Godmother of Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Cruises has announced that the human rights activist and youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, will be the godmother of their latest cruise ship Celebrity Edge. The revolutionary new vessel currently under construction at the STX France shipyard will be christened in Fort Lauderdale in 2018.

Goodbye Legend of the Seas

After 22 years in service, Royal Caribbean cruise ship Legend of the Seas has retired. The vessel arrived at Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain on March 26, where it will be refurbished and rebranded as TUI Discovery 2 for Thomson Cruises. With the Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International said farewell from the oldest vessel of the popular Vision Class ship.
