This initiative represents a significant commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and surgical education in sub-Saharan Africa, addressing critical needs and building sustainable local healthcare infrastructures.

From the seas to the skies and now navigating the streets of London, Sir Richard Branson once again delighted the public with a giveaway of free cruise vacations. In true entrepreneurial fashion and adding his personal flair, Sir Richard Branson took to London's streets in a specially designed bus modeled after the cruise ship Scarlet Lady, offering 200 people free cruises in the Mediterranean.


The 'ship' was brimming with excitement, featuring special performances by 'The Happenings' cast – who are regulars on Virgin Voyages ships.

Australian Traditional Owners to be Godparents of Seabourn Pursuit

Seabourn has announced that the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners will serve as godparents to the Seabourn Pursuit, the cruise line's latest ultra-luxury expedition vessel. Representatives from the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation will join the inaugural dedication ceremony on Ngula Jar Island on the Uunguu Coast, welcoming guests aboard the Seabourn Pursuit on June 29, 2024.

Cruise ship hits pier in Turkey

The cruise ship Celestyal Journey hit the pier at the port of Kusadasi, Turkey while the attempt to dock went wrong.
The incident took place around noon on Monday, April 15, when the vessel, measuring nearly 220 meters, approached the dock too quickly. 
Despite the crew's efforts to deploy the anchor, the ship was unable to slow down sufficiently, leading to a collision with the concrete structure with its bow bulb. Fortunately, no injuries were reported either onboard or onshore, and only caused minor damage to both the ship and the dock structure.

Neonyx Cruises to Debut in Mediterranean with the Goddess of Night

The Greek ferry company Seajets is stepping into the cruise market, with its acquired cruise ship, formerly known as Costa Magica. The ship is now being refitted at Çanakkale İCDAS Shipyard in Turkey. Initially renamed Mykonos Magic, it will soon take on the name "Goddess of Night" under the new start-up cruise line, Neonyx Cruises.

Carnival Set To Sell Miami Headquarters

Carnival is looking to sell its long-standing headquarters in Doral, Florida, and relocate to a more modern and smaller office space within the Miami area. Carnival has operated from its headquarters on Northwest 87th Avenue in Doral for approximately 30 years, having acquired the site in late 1994 for $23 million which according to 2023 property county appraisal assessed the market value at $66.1 million. Carnival has enlisted Cushman & Wakefield to facilitate the sale of the property.
