As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads across the world, our fellow crew members, our sisters, brothers, and friends on the cruise ships are among the casualties.

Dear Friends, with deep sorrow we would like to inform you that a fellow crew member who tested positive for the novel coronavirus has passed away.

Our hearts are saddened of the passing of the Costa Favolosa security officer Andrew Fernandes, age 48, from Mumbai, India.

We are deeply saddened to report that a 48-year-old Indonesian crew member who worked on the cruise ship Marella Dream has died on Friday, March 27, while the vessel was off the coast of Gibraltar. The ship’s captain in coordination with the port authorities requested evacuation of the crew member who needed urgent medical treatment on Thursday; however, it was decided that the patient will be evacuated on Friday at around 07:30 am.

A young Italian officer was found dead in his cabin onboard the cruise ship Regal Princess on February 28, while the vessel was docked in Cozumel, Mexico. The man was identified as 31-year-old Davide Pignataro from Castellammare, Italy, employed by Princess Cruises as a Second Engineer Officer. Italian media reports that the man was found dead in his cabin by his fellow colleagues shortly after his shift started.

We are sad to report that a Carnival team member who was part of the Carnival Dream crew has passed away in Mexico. Leonardus Patra from Indonesia passed away on February 6, after he was transferred from Carnival Dream to a local hospital in Yucatan. According to reports the crew member had complained of a stomach pain a few days before he died. His family was notified about this extremely sad news and was told that Leonardus died from a stomach infection.

We are sad to report that a Carnival team member passed away onboard the cruise ship Carnival Ecstasy. Michael Bryan Agadier Abinsay, age 32, from San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines passed away ten days ago onboard Carnival Ecstasy. According to reports Michael went to his crew cabin to take a rest and never woke up. Unofficial sources say he died from a sudden cardiac arrest while sleeping in his bed.

A man went overboard from Oasis of the Seas, while the ship was docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The incident happen on Wednesday evening when an unidentified male passenger fell from the Deck 10 while the cruise ship was docked at Pier 3 in Old San Juan.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of Carnival Cruise Line team members, Mario Monteverde who was working as Assistant Plumber.

Media outlets in Indonesia report about the tragic news of a crew member who died a week ago onboard the cruise ship Celebrity Millennium. I Komang Sutrisna Putra age 26, from  Karangasem Bali, Indonesian was found dead in his cabin on December 17, while the cruise ship was docked in Bangkok, Thailand.

A tragic accident involving a tourist bus with cruise ship passengers and a red SUV happened today on the George Price Highway in Belize. The accident occurred after the van full with cruise ship passengers was returning from a popular tour at Jaguar Paw Cave. According to local sources the red SUV was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it collided into a white van carrying the tourists.
