Mein Schiff Flow receives 144 custom bicycles and e-bikes

TUI Cruises has placed 144 custom-built bicycles and e-bikes aboard Mein Schiff Flow, expanding the options available to passengers and crew who want to explore destinations on two wheels.

The bicycles were produced by German manufacturer VELO DE VILLE. The new fleet includes e-bikes with automatic shifting and integrated anti-lock braking systems.

The bicycles will support several categories of guided excursions, ranging from relaxed rides through coastal areas and historic districts to longer tours intended for more experienced cyclists. The different models allow the ship’s shore-excursion team to match equipment and routes with passengers’ abilities and preferred activity levels.

The addition comes during Mein Schiff Flow’s inaugural year. The vessel entered service following its naming ceremony in Trieste on June 20, 2026. It is the second ship in TUI Cruises’ InTUItion class and is scheduled to operate in the Mediterranean before moving to Northern Europe for the 2026–27 winter season.

For the crew, operating a large bicycle program involves more than simply unloading equipment at each port. Shore-excursion personnel and supporting technical teams must coordinate inspections, battery charging, maintenance, guest fittings and safety briefings while working within each port call’s limited schedule.
