Cruise passenger airlifted from MSC Grandiosa

A 25-year-old French passenger in urgent need of medical treatment was airlifted by the Coast Guard rescue crew from the cruise ship MSC Grandiosa. The cruise ship was located about 20 nautical miles off the coast of Sant'Antioco, in southwestern Sardinia sailing a 7 Night Mediterranean cruise towards La Valletta, Malta when the medical evacuation took place.

Search called off for passenger who jumped from Carnival Mardi Gras

After a 58-hour search covering over 2,078 square miles, the Coast Guard has made a difficult decision to suspend its search for a 43-year-old man who went overboard from the cruise ship Mardi Gras. Two Coast Guard cutters and an aircraft were searching for the man. The man was identified by the Coast Guard as Tang Tran. The report states that the man jumped overboard the Carnival cruise ship on Saturday, 55 miles off the Florida coast. 

Six arrested at the port of Santos attempting to board Costa Diadema with 30 Kg cocaine

Brazilian law enforcement agencies have arrested six drug smugglers and confiscated about 30 kilos of cocaine at the port of Santos. The drug traffickers, five Brazilians and one Argentinian national, were arrested at the terminal, attempting to board the cruise ship Costa Diadema as it was preparing for a Transatlantic cruise to Europe.

Cargo vessel hits Mariner of the Seas in Freeport

Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas had an unfortunate accident in the Bahamas, the cruise ship was hit by the cargo vessel Tropic Freedom. According to passengers onboard, Tropic Freedom came alongside the harbor’s edge at speed, hit the concrete edge of the dock, and then lodged itself into Mariner of the Seas, which caused a lot of noise and shook the vessel.

TUI cancels South Africa cruises on Mein Schiff 3

TUI Cruises has made a decision to cancel all cruises in South Africa for the following season, affecting scheduled voyages of the Mein Schiff 3. The first voyage affected by the cancelations is 11-Night cruise from Mallorca to Tenerife on October 23, 2022. These cancelations run through the entire season, until March 3, 2023, when Mein Schiff 3 was scheduled to start the repositioning cruise from Cape Town to Gran Canaria.
