Dubai Harbour opens the 2022-23 cruise season with the arrival of AIDAcosma

Today Dubai Harbour welcomed its first cruise ship the AIDAcosma from the German cruise line Aida, officially starting its 2022/23 cruise season. AIDAcosma will use Dubai as a homeport departing on 7-night Orinet voyages to Muscat, and Abu Dhabi. AIDAcosma is one of the largest cruise ships within the AIDA fleet and is a first-of-its-kind liquid natural gas (LNG) powered ship with a capacity of over 5,500 guests. 

Crew Member Dies on the Wonder of the Seas

The world’s largest cruise ship departed Port Canaveral on November 13, when tragedy occurred aboard. As the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship Wonder of the Seas set sail on its first Caribbean voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida a Brazilian male crew member died shortly after the departure. The source informed that the crew member apparently died of suicide and left a note before his death along with a video on the social media.

100 Indonesian migrant workers employed on a ship serving as a floating hotel for asylum seekers in Amsterdam

The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) and Sleepships BV, employed about 100 Indonesian Migrant workers aboard the cruise liner MS Galaxy which will house asylum seekers in Amsterdam. These Indonesian workers who work in the galley, service and cleaning departments will cater to about 1,000 asylum seekers currently housed on board.

U.S. Coast Guard rescues man who went overboard from Carnival Valor

A guest aboard the Carnival Valor has been rescued by the Coast Guard after being reported missing on Thursday while the ship was sailing in the Gulf of Mexico.

The missing man was last seen at a bar with his sister and left to use the restroom at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night. He never returned, and his sister reported him missing to the ship's authorities the following day.
