AIDA to Broadcast FIFA 2022 World Cup Matches Aboard all 12 cruise ships

AIDA Cruises announced that all matches of the FIFA 2022 World Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar, will be broadcasted live on board all twelve cruise ships. Football matches from the opening day of the World Cup to the closing day will go live on large LED screens in the theatrium, on the pool deck or in the Four Elements. Top-class experts and a football show team made up of athletes will ensure to bring the World Cup atmosphere on board on selected sailing.

Royal Caribbean Promotes 6,500 Crew in 2022 through the career pipeline

Royal Caribbean International announced that 6,500 shipboard employees have been promoted to higher job positions this year alone, which represents 18,7% of the 34.831 crew members currently working on board the 26 vessels in operation. The company said in the "ROYAL Way crew Newsletter" that additional 1500 crew will be promoted by the end of 2022.

Viking Star Scores 100 Points on Recent USPH Inspection

The Viking cruise ship Viking Star scored perfect 100 points on the recent unannounced USPH public health inspection. The inspection carried out by a sector of the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) took place on October 14, 2022, while the ship was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Crew Center received a copy of the latest Vessel Sanitation Inspection Report stating that the Viking Star received a top score.

MSC Cruises to open brewery at sea aboard MSC World Europa

MSC Cruises is teaming up with the Italian-based Baladin Farm Brewery to launch its first brewery at sea on board the newest flagship MSC World Europa. Guests can experience three crafted beers at the Oceanic Brewery which will be part of the Masters of the Sea pub, one of the favorite places for MSC passengers to have a quick meal and delight in the extensive list of beers.

Felicity Aston Named Godmother of Silver Endeavour

Silversea Cruises has named Felicity Aston MBE as the Godmother of its new PC6 polar class ship Silver Endeavour. Felicity Aston is a celebrated polar explorer, author, television presenter, climate scientist, and the first woman to ski solo across Antarctica in 2012. Aston has since been awarded the Polar Medal and has been appointed MBE for services to exploration.

MSC Opera to serve as a hotel ship during FIFA World Cup in Qatar

MSC Cruises announced that MSC Opera, in collaboration with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy of Qatar, will serve as a hotel for all fans who will travel to Doha (Qatar) for the next FIFA World Cup. Featuring 1,075 cabins the ship will be moored and ready to welcome passengers the port of Doha from November 19th to December 19th, thus joining MSC World Europa and MSC Poesia .
