Marc McArthur of Norwegian Cruise Line has been named Diageo Global Travel’s best bartender for 2017. This global bartender competition was held yesterday, June 20, at the Diageo 396 Bar in Miami. In the semi-finals, Marc McArthur, competitors were Lazar Milosavljevic of Celebrity Cruises and Claudio Santos Liborio of Seabourn. The NCL Head Mixologist won this prestigious award with his ‘The Autumn Dram’ cocktail.
Police authorities in Belize arrested three Norwegian Cruise Line crew members last Tuesday, reports Channel 7News. According to the news article, 3 NCL employees were charged with drug trafficking of two kilos of cocaine which they smuggled into the cruise ship from Roatan, Honduras.
A 64-year-old British passenger sailing on Norwegian Spirit was transferred to University Hospital of Iraklion, after suffering from abdominal aortic aneurysm. The man who had serious health problems was traveling with his wife on 11-Night Eastern Mediterranean voyage. G-Unit’s DJ Whoo Kid and the rapper Waka Flocka Flame are officially banned from Norwegian Cruise Line over a poop-related prank on Gronk’s Party Ship, the cruise hosted in February 2016, by New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski. The Gronk cruise was on board Norwegian Pearl, and according to Whoo Kid, all celebrities from the VIP list are banned from NCL including Flo Rida, Redfoo, 3LAU, Sammy Adams, and Matt Riffe.
Norwegian Cruise Line announced 33 new trips to Cuba in the summer season 2018. The cruises, which will depart from Miami, will be operated by the cruise ship Norwegian Sky and all-inclusive 4 day voyages will include an overnight in Havana and a call at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas. Starting April 1, 2017, Norwegian Cruise Line will increase the onboard guests gratuities.
