I was hired to work as a third party in Costa Cruises.

There are many very important legal issues which concern a crewmember’s tips. As most cruise ship crewmembers know, tips or gratuities comprise the bulk of salary for many cruise ship crew positions. For example, a cruise ship cabin steward may regularly earn Four Thousand Dollars monthly, but only receive a base salary of Fifty Dollars; the remainder of their compensation being paid by tips.

Everybody lies. Everyone tells lies or “distorts the truth” sometimes. Some cruise ship crewmembers are big experts in lying that you cant tell if they are telling the truth and often takes a long time to find out that we have been lied to.

As a crew member on board a cruise ship you will find people from all over the world with different characters. Sharing this small space of working and living environment, people are not only categorized by crew, staff and officers but also with their individual characteristics. 

Clearly not all crew can be categorized by this list. While a lot of them fit into the categories, remember to recognize everyone and celebrate the differences together with the similarities.

The crew of Cheok Board filmed this hilarious video about the types of people spotted on a cruise ship. Don’t take this video personal, after all Cheok Board is a comedy production company.
