According to passengers onboard, Tropic Freedom came alongside the harbor’s edge at speed, hit the concrete edge of the dock, and then lodged itself into Mariner of the Seas, which caused a lot of noise and shook the vessel.

After a 58-hour search covering over 2,078 square miles, the Coast Guard has made a difficult decision to suspend its search for a 43-year-old man who went overboard from the cruise ship Mardi Gras. Two Coast Guard cutters and an aircraft were searching for the man. The man was identified by the Coast Guard as Tang Tran.
