Jewel of the Seas starts cruising from Limassol on July 10

The countdown is underway for the official restart of cruises onboard Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas. The ship will set sail on July 10 from Limassol, Cyprus on a 7-day Greek Isles Cruise, visiting some of the iconic destinations in Greece such as Rhodes, Mykonos, Piraeus (Athens), Santorini, Chania, and Crete.

Fred. Olsen returns to cruising with Borealis debut

Fred. Olsen has resumed cruises from the United Kingdom, with the newest cruise ship Borealis departing on her 3-day maiden voyage from the port of Liverpool. It is the first time that the 1,360-guest vessel set sail with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, marking the launch of the company’s ‘Welcome Back’ programme of UK summer season. Borealis set sail at 50 percent capacity initially, and the ship will always carry less than 1,400 passengers on board.

AIDA expands its cruise program from Kiel due to the high demand

AIDA Cruises plans to deploy another cruise ship sailing out from the port of Kiel after high demand for cruises from Germany. On August 15, 2021, the first four-day short voyage to Gdynia will start followed by a three-day cruise to Gothenburg. Both voyages will be offered alternately up to and including October 14, 2021. The name of the ship operating these voyages will be announced shortly, the company said.

Canada will allow cruise ships back starting November this year

Canada federal authorities announced today lifting of the ban on cruises sailing out from its ports and will allow large cruise vessels back into Canadian waters starting November 1. 

Canada's Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said cruise ships will be allowed to return if the cruise lines are able to fully comply with the federal public health requirements. 

Port of Civitavecchia Starts Cruise Ship Crew Vaccination - Norwegian Epic Crew First to Receive Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Port of Civitavecchia started to coordinate COVID-19 vaccine distribution to cruise ship crew members which will be able to get vaccinated directly on board. Around 10.000 crew are expected to be vaccinated in the following weeks, thanks to the Lazio Region, the Port System Authority of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea, Asl Roma 4 and Usmaf.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Ship Borealis Suffers Technical Problems in Portsmouth

Fred. Olsen cruise ship Borealis will not be able to set sail today after the vessel experienced technical issue, the cruise line said.

"We recently upgraded our onboard technology, and although in our sea trials this worked perfectly, we have since identified a potential issue which we are working hard to resolve," the company said in a statement on social media.
