Port of Barcelona Welcomes The First Cruise Ship

Today, June 26, the cruise ship MSC Grandiosa arrived at the Port of Barcelona becoming the first international ship to call at the Catalan capital since the start of the pandemic. The arrival of the ship marks the restart of the cruise activity in Barcelona with about 2,000 cruise passengers onboard MSC Grandiosa, mostly Italians and Germans.

Port of Valencia welcomes first cruise ship of the year

The cruise ship Mein Schiff 2 has kicked off the summer cruise season at Port of Valencia. The first, and long-awaited, cruise ship call after more than 15 months to Valencia was on June 27. The cruise ship Mein Schiff 2 arrived at the quay escorted by tugboats spraying water jets to celebrate her arrival. The German cruise ship has made a stopover in Valencia from Alicante and has docked at Cruise Ship Pier 1 of the northern extension of the Port of Valencia.

MSC Cruises Begins Construction of the Second LNG Ship MSC Euribia

Today MSC Cruises announced the construction of its 22nd ship in the fleet at the steel cutting ceremony at Saint Nazaire shipyard in France. The latest ship will be named MSC Euribia after the ancient Greek goddess of the sea, entering in service in June 2023. The latest ship will be the most environmentally advanced vessel of MSC Cruises, as well as the second in the fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the cleanest fossil fuel in the world. 

Costa Cruises crew get COVID-19 vaccines at Port of Savona

Costa Cruises crew members began getting their COVID-19 shot this morning at the Port of Savona, Italy. According to our source, Costa Firenze arrived today in Savona to vaccinate 1040 crew members currently onboard the ship. With the assistance of the local government, the crew received the jab at the Costa Cruises passenger terminal Palacrociere.

Carnival Returns to Cruising From PortMiami With Carnival Horizon

Carnival Cruise Line started its first cruise after almost 16 months from PortMiami, with the departure of Carnival Horizon on July 4. Carnival Horizon set sail at 4 p.m. from the cruise capital of the world for a six-day cruise with stops in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic and the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay.
