German cruise operator acquires Crystal River Cruises remaining ships

The German cruise operator Riverside Collection, based in Hamburg, Germany announced it has acquired the remaining four Crystal river ships.

In October 2022, the cruise company acquired the 110-passenger ships Cristal Bach, Cristal Ravel, Cristal Mahler, and Cristal Debussy from The Seaside Collection, a German company that owns and operates boutique hotels in Europe and the Maldives.

Silversea Cruises has revealed details on the public venues aboard the industry's first cruise ship free of emissions Silver Nova. The new ultra-luxury ship is equipped with the largest array of bars, lounges, and restaurants of any ultra-luxury cruise ship, according to Silversea Cruises.

After laying off 9% of its shoreside employees, reducing housekeeping services, eliminating onboard positions, and taking away staff members' privileges, Norwegian Cruise Line is taking another drastic step to cut down costs.

This time the company is targeting the entertainment department by eliminating “expensive” production shows and laying off cast members and entertainment staff.

Harding+ reveals retail offer on P&O Arvia

Harding+ has revealed details of its 900 square meters of retail space onboard the new P&O Cruises ship Arvia, which will feature more than 200 brands. A new store concept called "The Avenue" will include fine jewelry, fine watches, duty-free, beauty, fashion, technology, and curated souvenirs. The brands will include 34 that are new to the cruise line and 18 that are first to retail at sea. 

World's first cruise ship with 5G network to be delivered in China

Carnival's Adora Cruises brand in China under CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping announced on Thursday that it will deliver the world's first 5G cruise ship later this year. 

In cooperation with China Telecom, the company is building the world's first 5G cruise ship, as well as a large Chinese-made cruise ship.
