Russian Cruise Ship Collides with Pier Due to High Winds

The cruise ship Astoria Grande (Ex AidaCara) operated by Miray Cruises collided with the pier at the port of Amasra, Turkey, on January 18.

The vessel which is mainly operated for the Russian market and sails regular cruises from the port of Sochi, was experiencing high winds and strong weather conditions in Amsara port not long after 9 AM.

Marine Hotel Association Announces Scholarships for Talented Cruise Ship Chefs

The Marine Hotel Association’s new Culinary Advisory Council will be awarding scholarships to talented culinary professionals working aboard cruise ships in a first-of-its kind initiative. The not-for-profit MHA will host its annual Conference & Trade Show, taking place at Naples Grand Resort in Naples, Florida, April 2-4.
