Oceania Cruises Purchase Ocean Princess

Princess cruises sold their 672-passenger cruise ship Ocean Princess to Oceania Cruises. The smallest and most luxurious princess cruise ship was sold for $66 million with an purchase agreement in November 2014 between Carnival Corporation and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Oceania Cruises will spend additional $40 million on a renovation during 35-days dry dock.

Carnival Cruise Passenger Drowns in Cozumel

Carnival Triumph passenger died in Cozumel, Mexico on Friday, after drowning at a beach. John Douglas Herberger died as a result of drowning at the Sky Reef beach club. The 56-year-old passenger arrived in Cozumel with his wife on a day trip to the island. They visited the beach on the south side of Cozumel and John decided to swim when the tragic event happened.

Brilliance of the Seas Rescues 18 Cuban Migrants, 9 Died During the Trip

Yesterday Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas crew rescued 18 Cubans, who were adrift in the waters of the Caribbean. Dehydrated and exhausted, they were provided with water, food and medical attention on board. U.S. Coast Guard was notified by the cruise ship officers, and took over the migrants.
