Costa Toscana Completes Sea Trials and Marks Coin Ceremony

Costa Toscana has successfully completed sea trials—a series of tests to verify the proper functioning of systems, equipment and LNG (liquefied natural gas) engines. Now, the ship is back at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland, for additional work prior to the vessel's delivery to Costa Cruises in December 2021. Costa Toscana is Costa’s second ship powered by liquefied natural gas, the marine industry’s most advanced fuel technology available for reducing emissions.

Searching for the most popular brands among Germans every year, the market research company YouGov and the business and financial newspaper Handelsblatt organized one more survey and the surveyed again voted Hurtigruten first this year. The shipping company is known for the traditional mail ship route along the Norwegian coast and the sustainable expedition sea voyages around the globe.

Captain Cook Cruises Helps Fijian Families hit by the crisis

On Wednesday, 13th and 14th of October, Fiji One, a Captain Cruise’s sailing catamaran sailed to Mamanuca & Yasawa islands and another one called Reef Endeavour to the Northern Yasawa on 15th October. Both ships were loaded with essential supplies to help the villages, affected by the crisis caused by border closures and lack of tourism. 

Cunard announces new itineraries on Queen Elizabeth for 2022

Queen Elizabeth is offering entirely new itineraries between February 20 and May 17, 2022. Sailings will depart from Southampton and will include a voyage in search of the Northern Lights, departures to the Canary Islands, Western Mediterranean as well as a grand voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, through the Panama Canal and on to Vancouver, Canada.

The game studio Image Power has announced a new simulation game called Cruise Ship Manager. The game is in development stage and is set to be released in the second half of 2022. According to the company "Cruise Ship Manager" is a game where players will be able to manage the entire cruise ship, resources, sell cruises to passengers, manage revenue and costs, and take care of the crew.

Virgin Voyages Reveals Mermaid Paint on Valiant Lady hull

Virgin Voyages' second cruise ship Valiant Lady is getting the final touches with the mermaid design on the hull. The mermaid represents beautiful tension between strength and vulnerability – of the black American woman who is unafraid of her own power and never backs down. The hull art was created by artist Hillary Wilson, who wanted to convey the balance between the two and drew a mermaid who is confidently moving forward toward her dreams.
