Cruise ships to resume Brazil sailings this week

After two months of voluntary suspension of operations, cruise ships will finally resume sailings in Brazil. Clia Brazil announced on Wednesday the resumption of the cruise season starting on March 5. The rest of the season will feature 19 itineraries and will run through April 18, while the 2022/23 season will officially start in October 2022. Last week, Brazil Ministry of Health released a document allowing cruise ships to resume sailings on March 7.

Crew Aboard Five Cruise Ships in Brazil Receive COVID-19 Booster Shot

Cruise Lines International Association - CLIA Brazil, has announced that the crew onboard the five cruise ships anchored off the coast of Santos have received coronavirus booster shot. As part of the cruise lines policy and adoption of mandatory core elements of a strong set of health protocols, all crew members need to receive the 3rd dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Anvisa Recommends Suspension of the Brazilian Cruise Season

Brazilan cruise season could be canceled for the five cruise ships currently anchored off the coast of Santos, after the Health Regulatory Agency – Anvisa, recommended suspension of the 2021/2022 season due to the rapid rise of COVID cases aboard the ships and in the country. Several media outlets in Brazil report that Anvisa sent a document to the Ministry of Health which will have the final word about the faith of the season.

Crew Members Aboard Costa Firenze Test Positive For COVID-19

The cruise industry is once again facing challenges caused by the global pandemic, with the main focus on cruise ships sailing in the USA. The CDC's latest report states that positive cases were found on 89 cruise ships sailing out from the US ports. However cruise ships deployed in other regions around the world are also reporting positive cases onboard.

Costa Diadema starts Brazil cruise season

This Monday, on 20th of December, Costa Diadema has made its first stop at the Port of Santos, where a debut ceremony was held on board the vessel. Brazils Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto participated at this event, highlighting that the country is able to welcome more ships like the Costa Diadema in order to increase the movement of tourists.  “We know that Brazil can become the America of maritime cruises.
